What you should know about bread and bread rolls


The range in bakeries comprises 4 groups of bread, each with various types:

Wheat bread
Definition: Bread containing at least 90 % wheat
Examples of wheat bread include: wheat bread, wheat toast bread, wheat germ bread, wheat wholemeal bread, crispbread

Multi-grain wheat bread

Definition: Bread containing between 50 % and 89 % wheat flour
Examples: Multi-grain wheat bread, Multi-grain wheat germ bread, wheat/rye wholemeal bread, crispbread

Multi-grain rye bread
Definition: Bread containing between 50 % and 89 % rye flour
Examples: Multi-grain rye bread, multi-grain rye germ bread, rye/wheat wholemeal bread, crispbread

Rye bread
Definition: Bread containing at least 90 % rye
Examples: Rye bread, rye germ bread, rye wholemeal bread, crispbread
